Ethiopia plans to begin generating power from the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile during the upcoming rainy season between June and August.  It is not clear if this is just a test or the beginning of continuing power generation.  The dam is 80 percent complete and expected to reach full generating capacity in 2023.  0 commentsLabels: Blue NileEgyptEthiopiaGERDhydropowerNile watersSudan
